Premium BOSE sound meets excellent noise-cancelling!
Design and Comfort
The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 have a high-quality finish and minimalist design. Unlike many other headphones, the headband is made of metal, which gives it a sturdy, high-quality feel and a distinctive look. On top of that, it distributes the weight evenly, and its underside is partially foamed, which makes it even more comfortable to wear. Even though the earcups are plastic, they still look aesthetically pleasing. In addition, you can effortlessly slide both cans up or down for enhanced comfort.
Once you have the headphones on your head, you can fully indulge in your favorite music to relax at home or motivate you at work. We can safely say that the overall wearing comfort is fantastic! Not only do the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 sit sufficiently tight on your head and leave room for your ears, but they also don’t pinch, even after prolonged wear. Kudos to Bose! Nice job here. You could argue about the fact that there are no folding hinges to retract the cans. For some, it might matter; for others, not so much. That said, you can turn the earcups to the side to store the headphones safely away.
Controls
We like that Bose has kept the buttons on the headphones rather slim and discreet. They are located on the back of the earcups and are intuitive to use. On the right side is the power on, pairing, and digital assistant button, while the buttons on the left side are for noise cancellation or call mode. With the Bose app, you can choose between 11 different levels of noise cancellation to adapt the ambient noise according to your preference.
In case you want hands-free control for more convenience, simply invoke Amazon Alexa via voice command. If you want Siri or Google Assistant to control the headphones or other smart home devices, you need to summon them beforehand by pressing a dedicated button on the right earcup. What’s more, there is a touch panel in the right earcup that you can swipe to get the volume adjusted. Just swipe up or down to change the volume, and forward or backward to skip songs. If you want to play or pause a track, just double-tap the right earcup.

Performance
Usually, when you buy a pair of Bose headphones, you can expect a product that feels high quality and lives up to high expectations. In this case, it’s no different! In our opinion, Bose has even stepped it up a notch when it comes to noise-cancelling headphones. The great noise-cancelling technology allows you to effectively block out the noise whether you’re hustling at work, on the plane, or strolling through the city center. Just press the left earcup to shift between your three favorite settings: zero (by default, light noise cancellation), five, and 10 (full noise cancellation). You can achieve full transparency by choosing Conversation Mode, which turns noise cancellation completely off for natural conversations without taking off the cups.
When it comes to range, the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 will work impeccably within a distance of 10 meters (33 ft). As for the sound, Bose doesn’t let you down either. These Bose cans produce great, deep bass and well-balanced, clear sound. As for battery life, it lasts around 20 hours before you need to recharge the 700s, which is decent but still leaves some room for improvement. That being said, it only takes about 15 minutes to recharge for another 3.5 hours of listening to the latest hits! If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to charge, simply use the smart earphones as conventional wired headphones.
What impressed us seriously is how well the voice calls work. The four built-in microphones ensure that the Bose headphones 700 pick up your voice nicely so that you can have smooth conversations with friends without having to repeat yourself. You will also be able to understand the person at the other end of the line clearly, as any disturbing noise from your surroundings is effectively blocked out. If you’re a person who loves chatting on the phone, this could be another reason for you to get the 700s asap!
PROS
+ Fantastic active noise reduction
+ Superb sound
+ Sleek and attractive design
+ Intuitive buttons and touch controls
CONS
– Medium battery life
– No folding hinge
Verdict
The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 impress with a modern, one-piece aesthetic and an intuitive-to-use touch control. Naturally, you can also expect the usual premium sound that Bose headphones are known for. Of particular note are the excellent noise-cancelling feature and the quality of calls thanks to the built-in microphones. The only minor points of improvement we found are the fact that there is no foldable hinge and that the battery life could be improved a bit. However, we’re pretty nit-picky here, as you can recharge the headphones pretty quickly, and the design is a matter of personal preference. Overall, we can say that Bose delivers a lot of bang for your buck!
