RETURNS, REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

At Smart Speakers South Africa, we are committed to providing high-quality smart devices and excellent customer service. If something isn’t right with your purchase, our returns, refunds, and exchanges policy has been designed to comply with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and to ensure a fair and transparent process for all customers.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGE POLICY (CPA COMPLIANT)

Subject to the conditions outlined below, refunds and exchanges may be requested within the rules of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.

WHEN CAN A EXCHANGE BE REQUESTED?

An exchange may be requested under any of the following conditions:

  • The product sustained damage in transit, identified at the time of delivery and confirmed in the presence of the courier.
  • The product was misrepresented based on the original product description on our website.
  • The product has a manufacturing defect.

WHEN CAN A REFUND BE REQUESTED?

  • Orders are processed during standard business hours (Monday to Friday).
  • Delivery times may vary slightly during peak periods or public holidays.
  • You will be notified once your order is ready for dispatch or collection.

WHEN REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES WILL NOT BE HONOURED

Refunds and/or exchanges will not be accepted under any of the following conditions:

  • Damage sustained during transit was not reported immediately upon delivery.
  • A refund or exchange is requested after 7 working days from the date the product was received (actual timeframes may vary according to local laws and regulations).
  • The product is returned without all original accessories, attachments, or packaging, or if any part of the product is damaged.
  • Proof of purchase or a valid receipt cannot be provided, or has been forged or tampered with.
  • The product is tested by technical support and no manufacturing defect is found.
  • Damage caused by:
    • Improper installation or incorrect operation
    • Unauthorised modifications or repairs
    • Entry of foreign substances such as water, oil, sand, or dust
    • Crashes, burns, or misuse not related to manufacturing defects
  • Labels, serial numbers, waterproof markers, or authenticity seals show signs of tampering or alteration.
  • Damage caused by external factors, including but not limited to fire, flooding, lightning strikes, or extreme weather conditions.
  • Payments made for pre-ordered items or deposits to secure products, unless the manufacturer fails to deliver or discontinues production of the paid-for item.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON PRE-ORDERS OR DEPOSITS

Payments made for pre-ordered products or deposits are non-refundable, unless the manufacturer:

  • Fails to deliver the product, or
  • Stops producing the product altogether.

To initiate a return, refund, or exchange, please contact our support team with:

  • Your order number
  • Proof of purchase
  • A brief description of the issue (including photos where applicable)
