WARRANTY AND REPAIRS POLICY

At Smart Speakers South Africa, we are committed to supplying high-quality smart speakers and consumer technology at competitive prices. As many of our products are parallel imports, our warranty and repairs policy is structured accordingly and complies with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.

Please read the information below carefully to understand how warranties and repairs are handled.

WARRANTY COVERAGE (6 MONTHS)

All products sold by Smart Speakers South Africa include a 6-month limited warranty from the date of delivery.

Because our products are parallel imported, they do not carry manufacturer-backed South African warranties. Instead, warranty claims are handled directly by Smart Speakers South Africa.

The 6-month warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Faults that occur under normal use
  • Issues not caused by misuse, accidental damage, or external factors

WARRANTY REPAIRS PROCESS

If your product develops a fault within the 6-month warranty period, the following process applies:

  1. The product must be returned to Smart Speakers South Africa for inspection.
  2. Our technical team or authorised repair partners will assess the product to determine whether the issue is a manufacturing defect.
  3. If the defect is confirmed:
    • The product will be repaired, or
    •Replaced (where repair is not possible), or
    •Refunded, at our discretion, in line with the CPA.

Repair or replacement timelines may vary depending on part availability and technical assessment requirements.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY

The warranty does not cover damage or faults resulting from:

  • Accidental damage, drops, cracks, or impact
  • Exposure to water, moisture, heat, dust, sand, or liquid ingress
  • Power surges, electrical faults, or incorrect voltage usage
  • Unauthorised repairs, modifications, or tampering
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Improper installation, setup, or usage not in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Removal, alteration, or damage to serial numbers, labels, or warranty seals
  • Damage caused by external factors such as fire, flooding, lightning, or extreme weather conditions

OUT-OF-WARRANTY REPAIRS

If a fault occurs after the 6-month warranty period, Smart Speakers South Africa may still be able to assist with out-of-warranty repairs, subject to:

  • Availability of parts
  • Assessment by our technical team
  • A repair quotation, which must be approved and paid by the customer before repairs commence

PARALLEL IMPORT DISCLAIMER

As a retailer of parallel imported smart speakers and consumer electronics, please note:

  • Manufacturer warranties may not be honoured locally in South Africa
  • Software support, features, or region-specific services may vary
  • Smart Speakers South Africa provides local warranty support for the duration of the stated warranty period only

HOW TO SUBMIT A WARRANTY OR REPAIR REQUEST

To request a warranty repair or assessment, please contact us with:

  • Your order number
  • Proof of purchase
  • A description of the fault (including photos or videos if possible)

Our support team will guide you through the return and repair process.

YOUR RIGHTS AS A CONSUMER

This warranty policy does not limit your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa. Where applicable, CPA provisions will apply in addition to this policy.
